Financial Assistance

The cost of hearing aids should not limit a child from having the opportunity to learn to listen and talk. Thanks to donors, charitable foundations, and legislative support, we are able to offer financial assistance for qualifying pediatric patients with hearing loss. Financial Stewardship is of the upmost importance, which is why the insurance benefits available for our patients are utilized before the foundation pays any charges associated with hearing aids and/or services.

As a foundation, we provide the first set of hearing aids to all newly diagnosed infants and children in Oklahoma up to age 11 at no cost to the family. In addition to hearing aids, we provide all audiology services at no cost to the family for children with hearing loss under the age of 3 to families in Oklahoma. Financial assistance is awarded based on the Financial Aid Policy established by the Hearts for Hearing Board of Directors and is re-evaluated annually based on available funding.

Other Hearts for Hearing pediatric services and programs may also be covered through our financial aid assistance policy. To be considered for the Hearts for Hearing Financial Assistance Program, you will need to complete an application, upload the following documents and pay the $25 application fee through a Docusign link.

  • A completed application form
  • A copy of your most current federal and/or state tax return
  • $25 non-refundable processing fee
  • A copy of your insurance card
  • A photo of your child
  • A copy of your child’s IEP or IFSP (if applicable)

Please contact Susan LaFleur at 405-548-4319 with any questions related to Hearts for Hearing’s Financial Assistance Program or to receive the application link.

Celebrating 20 Years

Hearts for Hearing was founded in 2003 with a mission of providing hearing technology and speech therapy services at no out-of-pocket costs to families with children who were born deaf. 20 years later, we are still teaching babies and children born deaf to listen and talk. Our services have expanded to include adult hearing care with offices in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Shawnee. Our team of professionals has grown from our original three people to 117 now. Hearts for Hearing continues to provide the first set of hearing technology and therapy to children at no out-of-pocket costs to families, and now includes Newborn Hearing Screen services, major research initiatives, Eyes Open Ears On programming, and its own 3D ear mold lab.
