At Hearts for Hearing, we offer specialized therapy for children and adults who have received a diagnosis of Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). Our 12-week program follows the Buffalo Model, a research-based treatment program designed to target areas of deficit such as: understanding speech in background noise, auditory memory, listening comprehension, following auditory directions, and letter/sound awareness.
After completing our 12-week program, our hope is that you feel equipped with tools and strategies to manage a diagnosis of APD. To carryover progress, patients also receive a home-exercise program. Recommended classroom accommodations and school supports are also available as needed to help set younger patients up for success in all settings.
