Position Overview:
The Vestibular Audiologist is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with balance disorders and vestibular dysfunction. This role involves conducting comprehensive vestibular evaluations, interpreting test results,  and developing treatment plans.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive vestibular assessments.
  • Evaluate and diagnose vestibular and balance disorders in patients of all ages.
  • Develop individualized treatment and management plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and home management strategies.
  • Collaborate with otolaryngologists, neurologists, physical therapists, and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including diagnostic results and treatment plans.
  • Stay current with advancements in vestibular assessment and treatment methodologies through continued education and professional development.
  • Assist in the development of clinical protocols and best practices for vestibular audiology services.
  • Participate in community outreach and educational programs related to balance disorders and fall prevention.
  • Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in audiology practice, including compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Ph.D. in Audiology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Active state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as an Audiologist.
  • Certification: Certification from the American Board of Audiology (ABA) or the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (CCC-A) preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Proficiency in using vestibular testing equipment and interpreting results.
