POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) fulfills the role of mental health provider within the multi-disciplinary treatment team for families served by Hearts for Hearing. This clinician reduces the negative impact of social risk factors on treatment adherence and treatment success for families receiving care by providing mental health therapy and case management for families as well as consultation and training for staff. This team member exhibits strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills. The LCSW collaborates with team Directors in tracking and monitoring risk factors and outcome data. This employee is the only mental health professional team member and, as such, demonstrates discernment about supervision and consultation needs and communicates those needs to the Director of the LSL Clinic.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Patient Care and Family Support
- Triages needs of families referred for mental health services due to identified risk factors.
- Provides mental health therapy services for patients and families served at Hearts for Hearing for the purpose of reducing barriers to treatment adherence and success. This includes completing a psychosocial assessment, conducting appropriate standardized assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapy services to meet established goals and objectives.
- Provides case management services including linking, advocating and/or referring patients for mental health services and/or to resources to help ensure their basic needs are met and to reduce barriers to treatment adherence and success.
- Develops relevant content and provides training to parents who participate in agency-run parent support groups.
- Participates in the identification, administration, and scoring of screening tools designed to identify client risk and protective factors.
- Engages in ongoing reflective supervision / consultation to ensure high quality patient care.
- Coordinates quarterly trauma-informed trainings for all staff with the Chief of Listening & Spoken Language and the Chief People & Culture Officer.
Staff Related
- Provides consultation, staff support, and social service knowledge to agency staff in the event of patient/patient family crises.
- Contributes ideas, suggestions, and expertise to multi-disciplinary staffings.
- Provides reflective consultation to agency staff as assigned for the purpose of improving client outcomes, assisting with staff retention, and professional development.
- Designs and conducts trainings for agency employees about mental health topics that relate to improved patient care (ie. Adverse Childhood Experiences, Trauma Informed Care, Child Abuse Reporting, etc.)
Administrative-
- Maintains appropriate documentation of services provided in accordance with agency oversight and regulatory bodies, licensure requirements, and ethical best practices within the mental health profession.
- Responsible for designing and implementing the forms, processes, and billing practices necessary for providing and helping to sustain high quality mental health services.
- Assists with data collection and analysis related to risk and protective factors for treatment adherence and success.
- Other duties as needed or required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed or under supervision for licensure for LCSW required.
- Experience working with children birth-5 and their families preferred.
- Familiarity with the phenomenon of hearing loss and/or professions that treat patients impacted by hearing loss preferred.
- Infant mental health endorsement preferred.
- Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary team preferred.
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and treatment implementation skills and experience treating children with their caregivers as active treatment participants.
- Excellent familiarity with area resources for families and how to best access those services.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively assist with emergent situations involving patient families.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of best practices related to child abuse reporting,
- Familiar with Oklahoma Department of Human Services procedures and processes.
- Ability to quickly form rapport with both colleagues and patients and offer appropriate repair when a misstep is made.
- Responds to feedback and incorporates feedback appropriately.
- Works effectively with colleagues with different training backgrounds.
- Organizes and prioritizes work independently for maximum benefit of patients. Manages own schedule and maintains appropriate boundaries in order to conduct ongoing client appointments, meet emergent needs, conduct education/training and fulfill ongoing data tracking responsibilities.
- Communicates professional needs and requirements to both supervisor and colleagues respectfully.
- Maintains client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and Oklahoma state privacy laws.
