OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (January 22, 2025) – Hearts for Hearing celebrated the groundbreaking of its 30,800-square-foot expansion on Wednesday afternoon, marking a significant milestone with staff, patients, donors, and community supporters.
The expansion project, named Celebration of Sound, goes beyond the physical space to underscore a deeper dedication to enhancing the lives of children and adults who are deaf or hard of hearing. “We are excited to announce this important new chapter in our growth as a leader in hearing healthcare,” said Jennifer Burton, President and CEO. She added, “This expansion strengthens our ability to better serve the Oklahoma community with high-quality care and innovative solutions that meet the unique needs of our patients.”
Serving over 40,000 individuals annually, Hearts for Hearing is nationally recognized for its unwavering commitment to teaching deaf and hard-of-hearing infants and children to listen and talk, as well as offering comprehensive adult clinic services that help patients achieve their fullest hearing and communication potential. The expansion news comes shortly after the addition of Dr. René Gifford, a distinguished researcher, author, and audiologist, who joined the team earlier this month. “Our commitment to research and innovation ensures that we continue providing the highest level of care for those who place their trust in us.” Says Burton.
The new addition will include a three-story wing, designed to accommodate several key features that will elevate the care provided to patients. The expanded facility will feature a dedicated area for the adult audiology clinic, expanded research facilities, and most notably, a sculpture celebrating the daily gift of sound provided by Hearts for Hearing. Other notable additions to the expanded facility will include specialized clinics such as Vestibular and Balance, a Sensory Room, and storage for a Mobile Clinic garage. The new wing will also provide space for the organization’s corporate office, centralizing operations and ensuring a more efficient delivery of services.
