We are seeking a research coordinator to support ongoing clinical and translational research projects in the areas of hearing, language, and speech sciences. This role is essential to ensuring smooth study operations, high-quality data collection, and an exceptional experience for research participants including individuals with varying degrees of hearing loss. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, demonstrates high follow-through, and comfortable communicating clearly with study patients, families, and our multidisciplinary team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Study participant Coordination
- Schedule and confirm research participant appointments
- Serve as a primary point of contact for participants, including individuals with hearing loss, using clear and accessible communication strategies
- Support informed consent processes as needed
- Data Management
- Collect, enter, and maintain research data with high accuracy
- Organize and manage datasets, study files, and documentation
- Assist with data quality checks and preparation for analysis
- Regulatory Support
- Draft and prepare IRB submissions, amendments, renewals, and study reports with support
- Maintain compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements
- Administrative & Project Support
- Coordinate research team meetings, including scheduling, agendas, and minutes
- Assist with preparation of presentations, reports, and study materials
- Support general study operations and troubleshoot logistical challenges
- Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with investigators, audiologists, research staff, and external collaborators
- Demonstrate strong written communication skills for documentation, email correspondence, and regulatory materials
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with individuals who have hearing loss (training provided if needed)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with hearing loss or within a healthcare setting
- Prior experience in research coordination or data management
- Familiarity with REDCap or other research databases
- Experience drafting and/or managing IRB submissions
