Tamara Elder is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS, Cert AVT) with Hearts for Hearing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is the Director of Pediatric Clinic at Hearts for Hearing and coordinates a multidisciplinary team of audiologists, speech-language pathologists and otologists. Tamara has been with Hearts for Hearing since 2001 and has obtained additional certification in Listening and Spoken Language. She provides family centered auditory-verbal therapy services for infants, toddlers and children with hearing loss. Tamara participated in a yearlong Leadership Development Program with the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2016 and continues to make contributions in this area. She has also won the Oklahoma Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Gwen Cacy award for clinical excellence. Tamara has previously served two terms as Secretary for the Oklahoma Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is currently president-elect.
Tamara also enjoys her time spent collaborating and mentoring the Hearts for Hearing professionals at the new Tulsa clinic. She is passionate that all children with hearing loss have access to quality services that support families’ desire for their child to learn to listen and talk.
Tamara and her husband, Patrick, have three children and four (soon to be five) grandchildren. She greatly enjoys time with her family along with reading and gardening.
