Helen Carter

After graduating from Cheyenne High School in Western Oklahoma with a class of 17, Helen made her way to the University of Oklahoma. There, she earned her B.S. in Early Childhood Education and started teaching first grade in the Edmond Public Schools. After another year in first grade and three years in kindergarten, Helen decided to return to OU and get her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology.

She spent the spring semester of 2017 at Hearts for Hearing as an intern and knew this is where she wanted to be. She now works part-time as a SLP in the clinic and is a co-teacher in the preschool. She especially loves working in the preschool because it combines her experience in the classroom with her love for Hearts for Hearing.

Helen keeps busy with her daughter, Millie Kate, and son, Max. Helen and her husband and children love playing at Lake Texoma, cheering on the Sooners, and making annual trips to Kiawah Island with family.
