Development Assistant – OKC Office

The Development Assistant provides support for the Development Department, including the Chief of External Affairs and Development Manager.


  • Donor Database Management
    • Assists in maintaining donor database and accurate records within CRM (DonorPerfect)
    • Maintains data entry and reporting
    • Assists in preparing mailing lists
  • Donation Processing
    • Ensures the accurate and timely entry of donation information
    • Prepares and sends acknowledgment letters and communications
    • Processes and sends out in-kind donation letters for in-kind donations
    • Sends notification for tribute gifts
    • Tracks larger Memorial or Honorarium gifts for donors as requested
    • Assists with donor acknowledgment and stewardship
  • Fundraising & Special Events
    • Gathers and prepares registration materials and other administrative duties as assigned for fundraising events
    • Directly solicits gifts-in-kind for special events as requested
  • Community Awareness
    • Attends fairs and events to promote the organization
  • Collateral Pieces
    • Assists the Development Manager in communication with vendor(s) during the execution of development materials
    • Assists the Development Manager in the organization of mailing lists for development materials
  • Other duties as needed or required by management.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Nonprofit Organizational Studies or related field preferred
  • Maintains a professional image

  • Exercises good judgment and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to accept feedback and adapt to changes
  • Has proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office apps such as Word and Excel
  • Has excellent organization skills
  • Pays attention to detail and can perform data entry with very little to no error
  • Experience in the following programs is not required, but preferred:
    • Constant Contact
    • Form builder experience (i.e. iDonate)
    • CRM (i.e. DonorPerfect)

  • Working Conditions: Office setting with a forty-hour (+) workweek. Work includes pressure generated by deadlines, peak workload periods and frequent interruptions.
  • Physical Demands: Work includes extended periods of talking or hearing, use of vision, typing on a computer, performing repetitive motions, manual dexterity/motor skills. Frequent sitting and use of standard office equipment.
